The Losses No One Talks About.
The Program Built to Face Them.

Mission Forward is a peer-led grief support program designed specifically for veterans, transitioning service members, and military families — because the grief that comes with service deserves to be named, honored, and worked through.

You survived the deployment. You made it home. But something came back with you that nobody prepared you for — and something stayed behind that nobody told you how to grieve.
The loss of your unit. The loss of who you were in uniform. The loss of purpose, of structure, of the identity that made sense of everything. The loss of brothers and sisters who didn't make it back, or who came back changed.
These aren't weaknesses. They're wounds. And most programs weren't built to treat them.

Mission Forward was.

A Different Kind of Support

Mission Forward is an 8-week, peer-led group program that walks veterans and military families through the losses that service creates — and that civilian life rarely makes room for. Small groups. Structured conversations. No clinicians, no diagnoses, no pressure. Just veterans working through real grief with a trained facilitator and a framework that actually fits the experience of service.

It's free to participants. It's built to run inside the organizations and communities veterans already trust. And it's designed to go where veterans are — not to ask veterans to come somewhere new.

  • 8 Weeks —  Structured, sequential curriculum
  • Peer-Led —  Trained veteran facilitators, no clinicians
  • Small Groups —  8 to 12 participants per cohort
  • Free to Participants —  No cost, no insurance required
about the founder

I have spent decades honoring those who served — producing a tribute performance for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention, singing at the commissioning of the USS Green Bay, and receiving an Honorary Plank Holder designation in recognition of that work. The son of a Korean War veteran and brother of a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, my connection to military service is personal, lifelong, and deeply felt.

Mission Forward grows from a grief support curriculum my wife, Kari, and I developed. Since 2021, it has helped thousands of individuals navigate significant loss — now expanded and purpose-built for the men and women who served this nation.

We're Building This For You

Mission Forward is currently in development — and we’re taking the time to build it right.

Every element of this program has been shaped for veterans and military families. The curriculum. The facilitator training. The way cohorts are structured and delivered. Nothing has been rushed, and nothing has been built from the outside looking in.

We expect to open our first Central Valley cohorts this year, with national expansion to follow. If you want to be among the first to know when Mission Forward comes to your area — or if you’re a veteran leader interested in becoming a certified facilitator — we’d love to hear from you.

Leave your information below. We’ll reach out personally when the time comes.

Proven Where It Began
